This is an overview
of the costs and services provided by Digital Cottage.
Initial consultation:
Discussion of your
goals and expectations for your website, how best to use the World Wide
Web, the Internet, and email with respect to your particular business.
Design consultation:
Discussion of how
to incorporate your existing graphics, logos, brochures, photos, etc.
into a website. We will further discuss the size, scope and complexity
of the project. We will arrive at an initial theme (colors, typefaces,
graphics, logos, banners, navigation bars, animations, Javascripts,
etc.). We will also discuss your need for feedback forms, guestbooks,
domain name registration, internet account/email, and website registration
on major search engines.
At this point Digital
Cottage will give you an estimate based on the information provided at
the design consultation.
When your materials
(text, original art work, photos for scanning) are received work will
begin on your site. A two week turn-around is the normal time needed
to complete a simple website. More complex sites will require more time.
Your website will
then be uploaded to your web server space. You will be given the opportunity
to review and make minor design & text edits. If you do not have
access to the Web you can view your site at Digital Cottage and a print-out
of your site will be provided. Extensive re-design or editing will be
considered a change order and will be charged for on an hourly basis.
Your website will
be tested online with multi-browsers (Netscape 3, 4, Internet Explorer
3, 4) multi-platforms (PC & Mac). Any problems will be corrected
by Digital Cottage. Feedback forms will be tested before being activated
to your email.
After final approval,
Digital Cottage will then notify your server to activate your domain
name (if one exists). Your site will then be live at www.yourdomain.com.
After your domain
is activated Digital Cottage will create meta tags for your home page
and register your website with major search engines if this is an option
you have requested.
Changes and updates
to your site after this point will be charged on an hourly basis with
a minimum of $20 per change, edit or update. (Typos excepted)
Initial consultation
is free of charge. Design consultation is included with your website development
fees. If you decide not to hire Digital Cottage after you receive your
estimate, a $50 fee will be charged for the design consultation.
